'Edited for language'

PC fans might like to note that the showing in the UK on Five yesterday (5 January) omitted the bit where Molly turns to the girl next to her in the Negro choir and says, "I'm a *beep* lover," to be met with a dirty look (I think).

(Of course Molly doesn't realise the negative connotation of the phrase.)

They're showing this movie right now (I'm in the US) on tbs and it wasn't edited out.

I assume that IMDb has done a bit of 'editing for language' on my post - It might be two years ago, but I'm sure I wouldn't have put a '*beep*' in my post - I wonder whether this is done automatically?

It must have been edited out when I saw it. I just want to say here about one thing I've noticed about films. Many have just the one word bleeped out. As though it is obligatory to have the one offending word in a film that is otherwise free of strong language.
