Philip Morris gave the OK to this?

Around the beginning of the movie, Norman gives the lecture to Kevin about smoking. He mentions to him about the dangers of smoking and all the bad things and during the scene, they show the pack of Marlboro reds on screen. That really surprised me, because in the movie Clerks,there was a character who was telling the customers at the store about the dangers of cigarette smoking in order to sell some gum. As a result they never mentioned any cigarette brand names in the movie to avoid any kind of lawsuits. I always wondered how Philip Morris tobacco company gave the ok to use their product in such a negative manner in the movie...
