For the love of God, may's well've casted a woman. Unbelievable.
I've been seeing trailers for this movie on MLB Network and it just hurts my eyes. Good movie or not, I wouldn't believe for a second that Jones was Cobb.
No, he really doesn't.
In this age range, they probably should have cast Ed Harris as Cobb.
Had they made it 15 years earlier, Gene Hackman.
In the last 10-15 years, Ed Norton has a fairly good facial resemblance for Cobb.

It's not always important to cast someone who necessarily is a body double for the person as long as they capture the essence of the person.
shareIt helps a lot if the actor has at least a decent physical resemblance for the subject, especially if they are pretty famous, as Cobb was.
Any baseball fan who has more than a completely superficial knowledge of the history of the game knows what Cobb looked like, and TLJ looked nothing whatsoever like him.
It would be like signing up George Clooney to play Babe Ruth.
