I just wanted to say this is one of the most underrated and overlooked films, and has to be watched in letterbox.

I agree. Jones should've gotten an Oscar nomination.

Absolutely!! Jones always said it was his best performance!! It was a crime this masterpice was sporadicaly realeased in December!! Worse time for a baseball bio.!!

Couldn't agree more. Amazing performance (how could they have overlooked TLJ that year?). Great film, with an amazing score by Elliot Goldenthal. One of my favorites.

Let's see--film was almost 100% inaccurate in being truthful, despite its title it showed nothing about the life of Ty Cobb that made him famous, didn't even mention that he gave millions to build a hospital in his home town, portrayed him totally different than the way people who knew him remember him, and mostly consisted of showing two totally unlikeable characters arguing with each other throughout the film.

IMDB doesn't allow us to give it the rating it truly deserves--a zero.

I gave it a one and believe that to be overrating this piece of rubbish.
