Why is the picture/audio/music al score far superior to the first one?

I'm not an expert on the subject (hence my topic) but how come the picture of City Slickers II is far far far superior to the first City Slicker movie?

I mean it's like it was 10-20 years later.. no not really but you know what I mean...

Not only the picture is far superior, but the musical score man, it just sooooo much better then the first one (same composer).

Seriously why is the picture sooooooooooo much better then the first one, and only 2-3 years passed since the first one?

"Wait!" "Worry" "Who Cares?"

I can't answer your question, but in the theatrical trailer there's an up-tempo jazzy/soft rock tune with an acoustic guitar featured.. I've been searching for that song and simply can't find it. The problem is, I don't know the title..

Good luck to Forest, J.Hud, Meryl, Eddie and Clint on Oscar night. Yup!

Can't answer the score thing in particular but the reason for the picture is a couple things

The first movie came in during this weird time in Hollywood where crushing the contrast in pictures was all the craze. From 88-91, if you can find unrestored versions of movies from that era, they all had not so great picture.
It was ditched, and lately restorations have been fixing that creative choice.

Another thing is budget. Part 2 had a bigger budget because of how well the first did. Bigger budget, better cameras, better film stock, etc. this happens a lot with movies that eventually get sequels.
