I watched the 20th Century Fox video, issued in 2003, which presumably is the "cut" one you are referring too. However, like the other films of its day, it is obviously filmed very, very soft on purpose, with the actresses never nude and not even showing nipples explicitly for the camera. Even tamer than the usual Annie Yip outing. There was plenty of gore in this "cut" version, though it does run 90 minutes, 10 minutes less than the IMDb listing for the original. So you need to ascertain that for $29 you will get 100 minutes of footage, presumably containing more violence, but it seems highly unlikely that the sex scenes will be morre explicit or elaborate. Beware, as you could also be paying for 10 minutes of dull exposition/dialog!
"Three quarters of what is said here can be completely discounted as the raving of imbeciles" - Donald Wolfit in Blood of the Vampire (1958)
The uncut version is available but I caN'T figure out which distributor at the moment. I do remember one castration scene with no fogging which is rare for even Hong Kong III films.
The 100 min. running time seems to be an error or based on some rumours that allegedly there would have been a longer cut or workprint with more material. The official uncut running time is 91 mins. If there had been any extra material, it probably has shared the common fate of Hong Kong footage: straight into the trash can instead of archiving. (As has happened with few John Woo films, namely at least Bullet in the Head that I remember of.) Now old and OOP Hong Kong Legends R2 DVD contains the film uncut.
I also want to buy it. Are you sure the official uncut is 91 minutes. I checked it out on Amazon and it's listed as 89 minutes. Is it possible that 2 minutes were cut out?
