The Plot

I love this movie. But the developing relationship between the two main characters was enough, I wanted to know how they'd get on together. The twist the movie took with the smuggling the gun into the prison was distracting. It wasn't what I was interested in, it took the movie in the wrong direction. What was going on between Phillip & Rachel was so much more interesting.

I agree. I was much more interesting in seeing if they could continue to conceal their relationship. I loved the development of the characters. They each played it so well.

Whoa this post is an old!

I was hesitant to watch this movie because of this supposed plot twist...I had imagined a whole ordeal inside the prison involving a gun fight and lots of melodrama. Turned out much better than expected though so I didn't mind it at all. Glad I watched it.

I enjoyed the movies as well. Loved both characters.

SPOILERS BELOW!

Yeah, she just discovers he killed his wife in an act of passion and then the movie doesn't deal with how they reconcile that and move on from there. Only to say "if you really love someone maybe you forgive them" or something. I would have liked to have seen them resolve that in more depth. Instead it's "OH, btw, we can't really talk about this because we only have 5 minutes and Towel man wants you to smuggle in a package". I like this movie though, they had nice chemistry.

Loved the movie as well as both characters. Julia Ormond is wonderful in this.

I partially agree. The film was perfect as a story of troubled romance, and maybe it did not really need the gun sub-plot. Anyhow, it added some action, I guess, and was not bad to watch.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)
