IMDB's trivia said Moore changed the ending due to Candy's death. Anyone know what it was?

He probably went over Niagra Falls, as at the end him and Perlman are in the boat headed towards it, before the film cuts out.

I dont think he dies at the end, because at the end they have that blurb thing, and it says "Buck Boomer life long dream is complete he is a regular on cops.
