Legal drinking age in PA?

"You know, you have to be 19 to buy this," says the cashier at the grocery store when they try to buy beer. ive seen that in Dazed & Confused too when Mitch was buying beer... "You're 18, right?"

were drinking ages ever that young back in the early 90s on the east coast? i wouldnt be surprised if it was different in the 70s, but ive still always wondered.

I don't know why they said that in "Camp Nowhere" because as far as I know, the drinking age has been 21+ everywhere in the U.S. since the 80s (I think 1987). For a short time in the early 80s the drinking age was 19 but this film came out in 1994. It's correct in "Dazed & Confused" because in the 70s the drinking age was 18.

This is an ancient thread, but I figure I'd chime in. I remember in the early 1990's at least, some states still had a 18 or 19 year old drinking age still in place. That was in place until the Federal Government started threatening states with taking away Federal Highway Funds unless they changed the age to 21.

You can vote and die for your country, but by God, you can't legally drink until 21!!!!!

Conquer your fear, and I promise you, you will conquer death.
