Binary Pines computer camp

It's interesting that Mr. Van Welker calls the computer camp "Binary Pines" because Christopher Lloyd who stars in this film also starred in Back To The Future. Why is this interesting? Binary includes the prefix "Bi" which means two, so the camp's name means Two Pines. In the movie Back To The Future before Marty goes back in time the mall where he meets Doc Emmett Brown for the time travel experiment is called Twin Pines Mall. So, Binary Pines is a clear reference to Back To The Future.

...or it could be because binary is also computer language.

reply

Could be...but I doubt it.

OP, I think you're putting too much thought into it.

There are potholes on the road less traveled....

I'd put more money on the computer reference than the back to the future reference. the 2nd one is just coincidence

WOW-uh

Wow, you must be really, really, really bored. Binary is a base-two numbering system used mostly by computers because they use electricity to store information. Being electricity can only polarize something as positive or negative you could only use a base-two system. Therefore, when someone mentions binary for anything, 99.99% of the time it is a computer reference. I understand the twin pines mall thing, breathing pine trees, etc. It's possible. Just so far removed that it would be a stupid reference to make IMHO.

Edit: I had to edit this to say the obvious: yes, I am also really, really, really bored.

I like the way you think.

Sorry all the rest of you naysayers, I'm with the OP on this. Clearly a reference to twin pines... Duh.

reply

I'm with the OP on this one. Don't forget "Biff" was in this film too. Nothing is coincidental.
