Greta Scacchi!!

As much as I loved Albert Finney as Crocker-Harris, Greta Scacchi plays his ambitious but frustrated wife to perfection. I have never seen this actress give a bad performance, and I believe she is not given the credit due her. She, like Bette Davis, has mastered speaking volumes with a look. There is always something in her eyes to suggest an extremely active mind -- this is as much true of her characters as it is of the actress herself. She seemed to be around a lot in the early nineties, but considerably less so now. It's too bad. I'd love to see more of her...but with Hollywood's obsession with youth, perhaps it's difficult for her to find meaty roles. In any case, the point is that I think she's terrific!
