About Jessica's character..

Hi, ok I saw this movie a while back, and have always remembered it because of Jessica's wonderful performance. I am currently writing a screenplay about a family (who's parents have both died years before) living in a small town in Georgia. One of the central characters has manic-depression, and I am trying to learn all I can about the disease, which includes watching films with characters who suffer from it.

Does anyone know of any other movies that deal with a character with manic depression? So far, I can only come up with the following films..

Blue Sky
Introducing Dorthy Dandridge
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe
The Hours (just for Nicole's character)
Mad Love
Lust For Life
Cobb
Mr. Jones

Does anyone know of anymore films? I would greatly appreciate it.

Johnny: Jerry Lee, does your mama know you're out?
Jerry Lee: She knows, she knows.

How is your research going? I'd like to hear about it.

If I think of any movies with characters suffering from manic depression, I'll pass them along. There are probably some examples you can find in some movies, especially older ones, where a character suffers and struggles with life because of a mental problem. Though the movie might not specifically call it manic depression....I'm not a psychology expert at all, but I'd suspect the Sally Bowles character in Caberet, for one.

Most people don't know what they're doing, and some of them are very good at it.

I know it's been 2 years since the OP but if you follow this link (cut and paste- I don't know how to link it), it lists movies with the plot keywork bipolar disorder, another term for manic depression.

One of the few things I do know how to do online.

Looks like they have 63 items listed. Some are redundant.
