Compared to 'Speed', this is much better.

Still love this movie. 'Speed' did not age well for me.

Just watched both in 2015, and I agree. Speed is still okay, but hasn't aged that well, and seems somewhat of a cliche at times.

Blown Away however seems to have more meaning, more depth and pathos to its characters. Some of the macro cinematography is still very cool and captivating. The score also held up vey well.

I would have to rewatch Speed but hey, those movies are so nice they don't make such great actions movies like these anymore. In the 90's choices was there. One would go to the theater every week and pick any title randomly, sit with popcorn and be sure to enjoy a very good movie and leave the theater entertained and satisfied.

Today in the 2010's, need to investigate previews, read critics, pray Hollywood make a movie that has substance, we finaly take a risk - we go to the theater, we cross our fingers, sit with popcorn, and what we get? Regrets.

Hell no. Speed doesn't have much of a story, but it's still better than this story, which is boring and all over the place.
