Does this film take place in Texas?

I havent seen this movie in a solid ten years or so, and I understand from reading other posts that it was filmed mostly in Texas. For some reason though I remember either them saying or the license plates being from Indiana. Was it set in Indiana? Is this true or am I totally tripping sack? This is very pertinent information and I suggest anyone reading this who is doing something else, drop it because this is more important

The film is, oddly enough, supposed to take place in Indiana. At the part where Quigley's car backs up towards the camera when he leaves to evade the police he has an Indiana license plate so despite the fact that it was mostly filmed in Texas, it's supposed to take place in Indiana.

I actually have it from Netflix right now and when Quigley is threatening Butch to find out about Preston he rambles off Preston's address and then says something Indiana but I didn't catch the city. I'll watch that part again later because I'm interested in that as well and I'll post the answer to the city he said.

Okay, I turned on subtitles and this is what Butch says:

"Preston Waters, 1508 Oak Street, Hillsdale, Indiana."

Blank Check also gets a mention on the wikipedia page but as they note, the Hillsdale in the movie is a large city so is only named after the small town of Hillsdale, Indiana.

The racetrack (Speedway) is also mentioned. They say something like, "Don't take the money to the racetrack".

Here's a pretty ironic thing for me. I lived in Texas when this was filmed. After that, my family and I moved to Indiana not too long later. Go figure.
