Technically, how did Preston buy it all himself?

Let's assume he could afford all he bought, it's not an issue here, but there sure is another big problem many seem to miss. Throughout the movie Preston somehow managed to pretend there was another person named Macintosh who bought all the stuff he really bought, but how was it technically possible for him to buy anything expensive? Not a big deal when he was buying ice cream, candies, toys etc. but how about buying a house or a whole truck of candies or toys? He could make some arrangements over a phone with fake voice (like when he was buying the house) but in the end he had to go to the right place and pay for what he decided to buy. Since he didn't share his secret with anyone else and he only used cash (at least initially), how could it possibly work? I really doubt a 10 year old kid could just show up with a backpack stuffed with some serious amount of money and say "hi, I want to buy this house, here's the money". Wouldn't it attract anyone's attention even if he tried to convince everyone it was his boss, Macintosh, who gave him the money and told to buy the house?

That's what I thought and the girl I'm dating thought when we watched this movie a week ago. There's no way a kid could buy all that especially considering he used cash for everything including buying the house without raising suspicion. People would not believe a kid buying something claiming he works for somebody they don't know. They wouldn't let a kid fill out papers to buy a house for somebody they don't know. People would think it's obvious that the kid is behind all this instead of a guy named Mr. Macintosh. They do this to create an entertaining family friendly Disney movie showing what a kid would do with a million dollars and how he is secretly hiding the fact that he has it. It might make sense to kids, but adults know a kid could not be able to buy all that without suspicion. It's interesting also how his parents never seemed to find out. In all, it's just a kids fantasy that they try to make look realistic.
