Does anyone know if this was ever released on DVD?

it was released on vhs in the states i think and only in region 2 for dvd i have been looking for it myself since forever.

Does anyone have any idea why they haven't released it on region 1 DVD? I own an old LaserDisc version, but it's very annoying to have to turn the disc over halfway through.

Why don't you just get a region free DVD player? At least in Europe where I live most electronics shops will sell you a player without region coding if you ask them.
I got the film on DVD when I visited Germany this summer btw and I think I paid about 10€ so not terribly expensive - especially since it's one of my all time favourites.
