Why are the ratings so different?

In UK it's an 18, in the US it's R-rated and in Germany 12?! Sometimes this is so stupid...

Well ... it´s a movie showing homosexuals, there are lots of transvestites, one or two times men kissing. naked men sitting, standing or whatever (you do not see anything), some minor sex scenes, but no guns, no violence ...

reply

In the UK the ratings don't have much impact. I got never controlled when buying adult films.

The thing is in germany they have no problems with the naked thing but they havé a problem with violence/movies(CUT). In UK and USA they have no problem with violence movies(Horror) but with the naked thing.

USA- you can see a naked woman in movies but a Chainsaw or big knife must be in the same scene and a killer too i forgot ;-)

If you think that rating is silly - check out how Goodbye Lenin was rated in the US....

Yes and in Denmark it's 7? Or does that mean 7th grade? It is interesting to see the variety of ratings.
