I am not looking to BUY, but to rent or view online. Netflix doesn't have it, neither does Blockbuster. Anyone know where I can check it out? Loved the book.

You can find used VHS copies on Amazon.com and eBay.

Is it available on DVD in America? My library has a copy on tape, but I have no way to play those.

Not in the U.S., but there is one in the Netherlands. Region 2, but you can play it if you have a region-free DVD player.
