shareThe film does have plenty of inaccuracy but then so did Braveheart and critics seemed to enjoy that! I think it was the sheer amount of violence which turned off some people (particularly Indian critics) from the film.
The movie made a big impact on me when I first watched it as a teenager and even as an adult watching it again I found it compelling in its realism and in a technial respect a surperbly made film. It did have some very positive reviews in the UK and US and along with 'Elizabeth' helped Kapur to gain a very strong reputation as an international film maker.
