Truth about India

Shekhar Kapur is the only Indian fimmker with the Guts to taken on the dark side of Indian Hindu customs, hypocracy and throw it out to the world. For this he faced criticism from a censor board member, a lday who didn't seem to think that his depiction of the story spoke well of India.

Thats easy to say, when you live in a Bungalow with guards and not in a viallge in Mud huts, where someone can just grab you from your house and take you away.

A brilliant film

This would be easier to read and understand if it wasn't rife with incorrect syntax, spelling, and grammar, which render it unintelligable.

RahulFerru, I hope Phoolan Devi shoots you.
Maybe you'll realize the real importance of syntax when you're dead.

Can you think of any other Indian-made films that are just as courageous when it comes to revealing the dark side of India or Indian tradition?

reply

I agree that with any culture or society it's important to raise awareness of social injustice and oppression. However, at the same time it's also important to take a constructive look and explain why. I'm not sure how well the film did this. What do you think?
