The shootout at the end was just ridiculous.

They walk in, intending to swap the gatling gun for the guy. Then el bandido shoots the guy and they're just gonna back out, leaving the gun ?

Anyways, during the shootout following this, I would say Andie McDowell looked the least convincing, holding a shotgun as if it were a fishing rod or something... Didn't anyone tell them about the magical thing that is recoil ?

I totally agree that Andie McDowell is the least convincing. But as far as not knowing how to hold a shotgun..well she was a farmgirl and then a whore. Not much in practicing with a shotgun.

i thought McDowell was fine, Barrymore on the other hand with her crisscrossed guns pointing straight at her leader Cody was pretty stupid

She wasn't using a shotgun. She was using a lever action rifle most likely chambered in .45 Long Colt, which is the same caliber as the revolvers they were using.

The least convincing was Drew. She had the same look on her face for most of the movie ( even had the same contempt for William ( look at her with the knife) as she did for Ned and Kid Jarrett). Even Madeleine made a big mistake trusting Kid ( she knew what a psychopath he was) someone as smart as she was would not. Andie was the most realistic. She could not ride or shoot nor did she pretend to ( she got off a lucky shot and killed one outlaw). She was exactly what you found out she really was, a farm girl ( see her making a pie and stew when compared to Cody cooking a rattlesnake on the fire) and unlike the others will not spend her rest off life digging for gold which is something women do not do.
