Anyone think this is wildly underrated?

I guess the dead state of the board answers my question, but I think this is a legitimately great movie. Both Roger's and Knox's character development are excellent and complement each other perfectly. The vulnerability Knox shows in the car scene is particularly remarkable, and the ending legitimately makes me tear up. The amount of joy and love in that group hug is overwhelming.

I really liked this movie as a kid. My mom bought it for me on VHS in 1995.

Most definitely. I identified that film with what happened to the team in 1995 collapsing the way they did. The film came at a good time that I felt for them and becoming a diehard Angels fan. The scenes between Roger and his dad was rather disheartening saying they become a family if they won the pennant. Oddly enough, the team was close only for his dad to lose custody which made me sad.

Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls it's more democratic.
