Not entirely, but the ending is a major rip off of it, and they even mention that they want john landis to direct their music video, the same guy who directed the blues brothers. but the ending is nearly identical, even some of the shots are the same.

reply

Ending basically pretty similar except in a different genre, but otherwise its nothing at all like the Blues Brothers.

Have you ever seen the Blues Brothers?? It ends with them doing a set in prison, just like Airheads. How is that not similiar?

reply

umm no its not. like i said in another post, its like the movie Dog Day Afternoon, but obviously loosely. A lot of the scenes are like a homage to the infamous movie. Take the scene where Al Pacino comes out, talks to the cops, and fires up the crowd. Same thing with Fraiser in Airheads. Its a comedy version. If you dont believe me, watch Dog Day again.

Have you paid your dues Jack? "Yessir, the check is in the mail"

reply

I agree that the ending is Blues Brothers ish but The whole Dog Day theory is a little weird,Its similar for one scene its not even loosley it has an Homage. not based. It has a Die Hard spoof and homage too not just talkinh about the building.

reply

Come on people, it's an obvious rip-off of A Streetcar Named Desire. Really.

Mister, if you don't shut up, I'm going to kick 100% of your ass!

reply

It's closer to a rip off of Dog Day Afternoon.

reply

Was The Blues Brothers about a band going to insand lengths trying to get a record deal? No, it was about a band trying to raise money to save their old orphanage from foreclosure. Therefore, it's not a ripoff. The ending could be seen as an homage to BB, but otherwise the plots are completely different.

reply

it's clearly aripoff of Walk the Line, I mean, there were guitars in both.

reply

Idiots! It's a rip-off of This is Spinal Tap. I mean they both have Michael Mckean and involve Rock and Roll.

reply

Damnit, AND musicians playing them.
Next you are going to tell me there were actors, reading lines form a script...

Well Played. Well played.

Best laugh I've had today Good on you Crevan.

Airheads has a similar ending to "The Blues Brothers", but the movie was not a ripoff.
