OK, so they make fun of the classic "twist" from The Crying Game, and Jim Carrey is crying his heart out in the shower, BUT...is this a nod to some other shower-crying scene?
Stephen Rea COULD have done some crying in the shower in The Crying Game, but, alas...he didn't. Did someone else? In some other movie? Please help me out if you know this!
I believe that is a nod to the scene in Leaving Las Vegas, when the female character is in the shower after being brutally raped, as though she is trying to wash the violation and dirtiness she felt away. I believe it's an over the top way of him saying that he's been violated (ace ventura, I mean).
