Possible Plot Holes (Spoilers)

This is really a great sleeper movie. I've watched it maybe 5 times over the years.
Some minor plot holes ---

1. Chris Reeve holds up the phone bill showing the call his brother made to his answering machine from Reeve's house at 2am. My question is...why would that call even show up on a phone bill unless it was long distance? And we know they both live in town.

2. Reeve's answer about the angle of the bullet entry doesn't hold much water. It was, that he threw a paperweight at his brother causing him to crouch. So,....he's facing his brother's gun barrel, and has the arm speed to throw a paperweight, then fire his gun with the same hand? In the dark, that's pretty good. Also, I don't think people crouch from the knees when things are thrown at them. They either duck or swerve.

3. Reeve is seen standing in public at a pay phone to order the 2nd paperweight from Hawaii. There's no way he would risk being seen doing that in town. And he doesn't learn how to drive the handicapped van until a few scenes later. But since he did risk it, how did he get to the phone?
