The only problem I have with this movie is that the characters (even the ones from Prescott, AZ) call the town "Press-scott." The proper pronunciation of the town name is "Press-kit." Anyone from Arizona, and certainly anyone from Prescott would know this.
Aside from this, good bio-pic, but a better rodeo movie is "Junior Bonner."
There was a episode where Sydney went to Mackay Australia.
They pronounced it how it is spelt Mackay but it is pronounced Mac-Kai....
I always thought it was Press-kit. Same thing with Illinois though. You hear alot of people say "Ill-eh-noys" instead of "Ill-eh-noy".
shareSpeaking of Illinois, it's kind of like Des Plaines. While Des Moines, IA is pronounced "Duh-Moyne" Des Plaines, IL is pronounced "Des Plains". While Des Plaines should probably have a silent "S" like Des Moines and Illinois, I wouldn't say the pronunciation of Des Plaines is incorrect.
Although I do like saying "Ill-eh-noys" to annoy my friends from there.
Yeah, I've had people try to correct me and say Des Plaines should be pronounced with the s silent. I just laugh at them and say "Yes, child...in theory"
