ITV IS IN A MESS AND WON'T MAKE STUFF LIKE THIS AGAIN
Like many people I am enjoying this series again via ITV 3 repeats.
The acting is good, the scripts intelligent and the locations beautiful.
Back in the day ITV consisted of regional companies which made series which at least partly reflected their regional identity.
So HTV made WYCLIFFE set in Cornwall.
But ITV changed,it became dominated by GRANADA and LWT stopped having much of a regional identity.
So ITV seem to have cancelled PRIMEVAL,TAGGART and THE FIXER(so the papers say,if anybody can confirm this I would be greatful.)
The dramas ITV will make in the future will be set in nowhere land and will avoid any regional angles in their plots.
