Absolutely brilliant!

I agree absolutely!!! After watching almost all of the UK and USA detective TV series on dvd, I was at a loss as to what I would watch next when I discovered Wycliff at my local library. It is a brilliant series! The writing and acting are excellent! Wycliff is very thorough and no-nonsense, but he is also compassionate. I never know how an episode is going to end and that is refreshing.

I agree! Am rediscovering it after - can it really be - twenty years. It was a staple in our house in my teens, in Canada we got it on "TV Ontario" and appreciated British productions for their higher production values in general. I'm not enjoying recent BBC shows as much, you can tell they are dumbing things down to pander to the export market.
