The car

I want the DVD's so bad, but not as bad as I want to see the car in person! 4 years ago i found a website that claimed to have one of the showroom models in its costody and on display. However since then I have not been able to locate the car!!! Obviously there are several of them sitting around somewhere! No idiot in his right mind would trash a car like that. Now just to find it. I'm sure plenty of other people would be interested in locateing the car, if we all look it should be possible.

Yea.

The car is DEFINATELY the coolest car built in the '90s. I wonder if it's street legal...hmm...I'm nowhere near rich enough to have the actual car. I would settle for a 1:18 die-cast model of the car. They have produced K.I.T.T. and K.A.R.R. so why not the Defender??? That would be quite a model to display on my shelf! When I win the lottery (wink wink) I will have a Defender built for me. I know that it's simply built on a Viper RT/10 chassis stretched by 15 inches. I would love to have one do drive!

Yes, I've definatly looked into the K.I.T.T. turn-key replicas, very cool!, BUT the DEFENDER is just way cooler and better, But I love the Scanning light on the front of KITT, I baught a cheep imitation light bar and put it on my toyota a few years ago, then it got stolen, loosers. Anyways, I wish I could atleast locate the one of the Defenders to go see!

I am currently launching an internet campaign to get the show released on DVD. Sending emails to friends and asking them to get their friends involved to vote for the show on TVShowsonDVD.com...maybe if and when the show is released on DVD a 1:18 scale model will be built. I know that when Ertl decided to make K.I.T.T. and K.A.R.R. replicas that they pretty much coincided with the DVD release...Keep your fingers crossed and VOTE FOR THE SHOW!

Hey guys, just thought I would let you know. Since Pet Fly productions and Paramount had some legal activities, since the show each of the defenders has been either privately purchased or destroyed. Last I heard in 2004 there was only 1 defender still unowned by Paramount, and each one Paramount had purchased was immediately destroyed.

DONT ASK ME WHY, but this is coming straight from the source at Paramount Television. Theres too many legal battles to be fought by keeping these cars around. All KITT and KARR replicas you see out there are unlicensed, and if they cared enough the studios could probably sue for copyright infringement, but its just a fan thing. Plus Defenders are pure body mods. the cost would be extensive. The original vipers, donated by chrysler, were completely stripped of their original bodies and a whole new one was sculpted and cloned purely for the show. if someone has access to a concept development studio, id suggest putting a team together and recreating the mould. Someone needs to render the car out in a 3d program like cad or 3dsmax first.. PERFECTLY DETAILED of course. Then im sure some eager fan would finance the cars remake.

wow, pretty impressive *thumbs up* !!

I had the chance to be in Vancouver when they were filming it, both cars were stunning (the 'regular' and the defender).

people have been doing hand built 89 batmobiles for the past few years, if they can make THOSE i'm sure they could do the defender
