Is there an episode where ... ?

I've been a fan of AToF since I was a little girl, I used to watch along with my Mum and Dad. And I could swear there was one episode in which there was a subplot where a woman would drive around, looking for young girls. To the police it looked like she was kidnapping girls and then releasing them randomly but it was so that someone would look after her disabled son when she passed away ... Something like that.

I could've swarn it was A Touch of Frost but I've been watching repeats of episodes on Sky and On Demand and I can't find it anywhere. And the fan base of this program may be likely to be fans of similar programs that were on when this had its first innings. It has wracked my brains.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? :)

Only in the last five years I've been binging on British mysteries. The bit you describe is familiar but I don't think it was Frost. Dalziel maybe? Frost or Lewis? I'm stateside streaming well after first aired so it's all a jumble. I know how maddening it can be but in this current media environment I'm sure it'll come to you.

Yes it was definitely a British Police drama that started in the same era as AToF (early 1990's) as I remember being only little (5 or 6) when I watched this particular scenario. I'd have been watching AToF on Sunday nights with my family at the same time which is probably why I've got them confused.

I should check the other boards. Could very well be Morse. I've never watched Dalziel and Pascoe in living memory but I'll be sure to check those as well. It's drove me nuts all these years!
