Complete Collection DVD Box set

Now that the series is finished, does anyone know when & if there is a complete DVD collection planned? I always tend to prefer to buy TV series in their entirety, where possible.

reply

I hope there is but heard nothing about one.

reply

I feel sure that one must come as they did the same with Morse which was the other lengthy detective series and that complete box set is still selling like the proverbial hot cakes! Fingers crossed...

reply

I was looking for it, but to no avail. I bought the Series 1-5 boxset, and the Series 6-15 boxset. :)

reply

Yes, I fear you're quite right. For whatever reason, a full box set just hasn't happened within the usual time scale so I think I will copy your wise move and simply go for Series 1-5 boxset, and the Series 6-15 boxset! :)

On a different subject, I was thrilled to see that an excellent & well-priced complete box set of 'Bergerac' is now available!

reply

The Series 1-5 boxset was released by "Playback", whereas the Series 6-15 boxset was released by "ITV Studios Home Entertainment", so I complete release may be out of the question because it appears ITV sold the rights to release 1-5 to an outside company.

reply

Thanks retardedduck, that almost certainly explains why a complete release of this brilliant (& much loved) series has not and, as you rightly say, probably will not be forthcoming!

reply

The complete 15 series set has been released this week on 15th August 2011.

reply

Many thanks for this, miles-162; this is great news at last!

reply

Where did you get them from? All I've been able to find are the individual seasons from Amazon.

Just finished watching all 42 episodes on Netflix streaming over the past few months (final two last night for New Year's Eve "party" ;-).

reply

Well done! I am looking forward to doing same when I buy the DVD box set... :-)

reply

It's been out for years now--I don't understand the question.

reply

I would hardly call 15/8/11 years but I totally take your point gratefully. For some strange reason the release passed me by. Many thanks. BTW there was no question as such. We were merely discussing release of the complete series...

reply

It wasn't out when the question was asked.

The Complete Collection, a 19-disc set, was finally released in the U.S. By MPI on September 3, 2013.

The cover image of Jack in front of London landmarks is amusingly inaccurate, but apparently necessary in order to inform potential American viewers that the series is set in England.

reply

Regarding the Amazon link, seems you need to be a member of Amazon Prime to buy the box set. On another matter I bought series 1-5 in the Netherlands, produced by DFL Dutch Film Works. All of the cover writing is in Dutch but are original English language episodes.

reply

I tried the Amazon link and for Amazn US anyway it looks like a Prime membership is not required. i visited the Frost Complete Series product page logged out of my Amazon account.

Here's the link:

reply

Its the cheaper UK version sold on amazon uk site that is for Prime members only. Being a prime in U.S, doesn't mean you prime member over there.
