The Evil Twin mini series was too dark for SVH

I never thought about it until I recently re read it while going through my old stuff. Now that I have I saw how dark it was. It wasn't so much as Margo trying to kill them since the twins have been threatened and/or kidnapped before but she also killed children and for SVH that was a bit much!

It was pretty dark. I remember being a kid reading it and thinking how upsetting it was when you found out that Margo had murdered her younger foster sister who had looked up to her. However I probably loved the Margo storyline more than any of the other SVH stories. It was a real page turner. And I liked how it tied in to the dark storyline of Jessica and Liz seriously falling out and Jessica spiking Liz's drink. Resulting in Liz crashing a car and killing Jess's boyfriend.

I also loved the sequel with Margo's twin Nora even more. It was so crazy and outrageous lol. I think the Margo storyline and the other dark ones that followed were probably an attempt to cash in on the success of the 'Point Horror' book series which was hugely popular at the time. And it worked. The Margo storyline and 'Return of the Evil Twin' was very popular. When the tv series was going I hoped that they would do the 'The Evil Twin' storyline. But I guess it was WAY to dark for the tv series to even think about going near lol.

Return of the Evil Twin was so cheesy to me! I mean okay I can probably get that there was one girl who looked like them but then she had a twin herself? LOL! It was such a guilt pleasure for me. Yeah I knew they wouldn't do an evil twin storyline. I was kind of surprised that they even did the Kidnapped book into an episode but I think that went on WAY too long.

Haha to be fair the whole book series is a guilty pleasure. Oh and also remember it didn't stop at just two girls looking exactly like the twins. The twins also had an almost identical cousin called Kelly Bates who looked so much like them that they could all pass as triplets. There were a lot of Wakefield lookalikes running around lol.

Remember when we were young and the books could do no wrong!?
I think they are terrible now.
