OT : I miss the 90's

Watching this the other week brought back so many memories. I was just a young teenager when this came out and I hadn't seen it since then so it was nostalgic, and also a tad dated (esp. the Special Effects).

I def. Hope they do a proper remake.,,,series or movie. I guess people will always look back and say "it was a simpler time." But for me, it was. After 9/11 things changed. TV and movies, became more jaded. I posted a paragraph from another user :

9/11. The 90s saw a buildup from the 80s as an overall positive. Comedy was the movie genre that was sitting at top. Pg-13 led the charge. Then 9/11, the recession, it all turned pessimistic and angry. TV shows turned into cop shows and 24. It just became all negative.

It was nice going down memory lane watching this even with its faults. I feel for younger people that never enjoyed pre-9/11 America. I miss the 90's...I'm going to wind up like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite...jk...I don't dress, or listen to music from a certain period like some people do...they literally almost get stuck in an era.

Interesting post; thank you. One of the main criticisms that I hear about this series is that it has a '90's feel' to it and it has not aged well.

I think that it has, and like I have said many times on this board and elsewhere, it is one of my favorite films.

Well, it does have a 90's look...look at the dress and vehicles (I saw so many vehicles you never see on the road anymore) so being that it was made in the 90's, it's kinda hard not to "have a 90's feel." Same as something made in 2005 will look in/around 2025...
