UP network bleeping dialogue?

I sometimes catch episodes of this show on the UP Network. Today the episode Rosebuds came on. First scene, when some of the new pledges go to a meeting of the Rosebuds, one of the girl's line is completely bleeped out. I know this channel is all about "inspirational," squeaky-clean programming, but I can't imagine what was said on THIS show to cause it. Also, one of the girls (Tamera, I think) had a word bleeped out not long afterward.

Anyone have an idea what the "offensive" lines/words were??

I just saw that ep today too. I watch TV with closed captioning b/c I cant always hear what characters are saying. One of the lines was "I have some serious butt kissing to do" and another "butt kiss". One time they bleeped out "Bud" because I think they thought the character said "butt" again. I guess a person's butt is not uplifting and inspirational...

Thanks for "filling in the blanks." I know that the Insp channel also sometimes bleeps out words too; considering how often Ben Matlock calls someone a "jackass," I sometimes wonder why they bother airing that show. 

To me there's such a thing as 'going too far' with this sort of thing. Not airing shows like Supernatural or The Sopranos is one thing, but on sweet, harmless shows to remove innocent (and common) phrases like "kissing butt" is kind of ridiculous. 

up does this to all of their shows.

They used to be called GMC, which was short for Gospel Music channel

if there is a word, scene or episode with content they disagree with, they'll either

a. bleep the line

b. edit the scene out

c. skip the episode completely

There's another older thread on here about GMC censoring Heck and Darn.

reply

That's the annoying thing about this channel. I respect their views and everything, but I just don't see the point of airing a show that needs to be censored or to skip whole episodes.

A bit of the old ultraviolence...
