Did the writers purposely make T&T polar opposites of their parents?

If you notice, Lisa was street smart and adopted the book smart twin, while Ray was a yuppie who adopted the underachieving twin. But if you didn't watch "Sister, Sister" religiously, you'd probably have thought that Tia was Ray's daughter and Tamera was Lisa's daughter. Did the writers do that to emphasize the fact that the twins were adopted, thus nothing about them being "a chip off the old block"?

Good question I noticed that too that Tia would have been a perfect daughter for Ray and Tamera would have been perfect for Lisa.

Tamara and Lisa both like to party,Ray & Tia are into sophisticated stuff...I've been thinking this since forever and glad I'm not alone lol
