Was there any romance between Alex and Ray?

Ive only seen about half of this shows episodes and i was wondering if these two were ever romantically linked. Or was an interracial coupling too much for the producers to contemplate?

No they were never linked. I wish they would have gotten together. I think there was one episode where Ray was going to take Alex to a dance but I think she wanted to go with someone else.

I think the Alex/Ray relationship was more of a sibling relationship than anything else. They just didn't seem concerned about romance between them, they just stuck together as very close friends.

Shame they never took things a bit further. They had a really good on-screen relationship.
