Was Vince in love with Danielle Atron?

I realize that he was her security guard and that it was his job to work with her, but there was always something creepy to me as a kid about the way he acted over her. And then when she fired him, he kept trying to get his old job back even though there were loads of better, likely higher-paying, jobs out there he could easily get. In one episode he even follows Danielle to a horse jumping ranch and when she gets creeped out and leaves, he just watches her and says, "i did it for you". Did he have a thing for her or was he just that obsessed with his chemical plant job? 😕
