I am re-watching this series right now, and I do like your choices of actors for a re-make...

reply

I think Natalie Dormer, who played Anne Boleyn in The Tudors, would make a perfect Scarlett!!!

I'm a woman, I can be as contrary as I choose!

reply

Rachel McAdams as Scarlett, Michael Fassbender as Rhett and JJ Fields as Ashley

If Megan Fox was in it with her plastic surgery/drag queen looks, I think I would throw up. A few years ago I would've adored Catherine Zeta-Jones, she would've been perfect! Today, I think they would have to do what Selznick did and go with a virtual unknown.

Rhett - Again, a few years ago, I would've suggested Gerard Butler (circa Phantom of the Opera).

If Warner Bros does ever do a high-budget adaptation of Scarlett, then I want:

Director for the film: Steven Spielberg, Edward Zwick

Music composer: John Williams, Harry Gregson-Williams, Han Zimmers (also I want to add that the adaptation remake must use the same music from Gone with the Wind to show audience the movie is a real sequel, and to have the same feel just like Gone with the Wind)

my cast:

Scarlett: Rachel McAddams, Emily Blunt, Olivia Wilde, Eva Green, Marion Cotillard, Natalie Portman

Rhett: Robert Downey Jr, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Colin Farrell

Ashley Wilkes: Aaron Eckhart, Daniel Craig

Natalie Dormer would be the perfect Scarlet! And she's British like Vivien Leigh, the original Scarlett was.

The OP has clearly been nipping at the cooking sherry.

"I say ! Open this door at once! We're British !"
