It's actually pretty good if u don't think of it as Gone with the Wind..

sequel.

It has very little to do with 1939 film (which I consider to be the greatest American film ever made) and I'm fine with it. It's not a masterpiece, far from it, but still it's a well-made mini-series that keeps you entertained the whole time.

Both my grandmother - who has seen GWTW 75 times - and I thoroughly enjoyed this. It's not a patch on the original and Joanne Whalley Kilmer wasn't great, but, it was really enjoyable and Timothy Dalton was great

My thoughts exactly.. Besides, I just love that brainless (hilarious) blonde prostitute. She just steals the show. I don't know if her acting is actually brilliant or god awful but I just love her.

I think Timothy Dlaton is fabulous as Rhett, but the plot is disappointing. it starts off quite well, but once it moves to ireland it becomes absurdly melodramatic, sean bean might as well be wearing a hat with 'villain' on it. i'm surprised he doesn't end up tying ScRlett to a railway line or something.
