UK DVD?

People seem to complain a lot about UK dvd. What exactly is wrong with it?
I moved to London from Sweden a few years ago and I would like to show this series to my boyfriend because I'm a fan.
Would someone who's never watched it notice something isn't right with the UK dvd?
