a live action reboot movie?

I think that would be a great Idea.

Gary Oldman is the greatest actor to ever live.

If ever they did a live-action film, I would LOVE to see Jared Leto as Matrix!

ReBoot can only be done in animation.

I just don't see why people automatically regard a live action version of a beloved animated work as a higher achievement or, in this case, even a worthy or possible idea. Animation is a great creative medium in itself and deserves its own funding and projects. Venturing into live action brings a lot of people into the decision making process who simply don't get the source material and inevitably inject executive meddling until we end up with Kevlar nipples on a Bat-suit and that sort of thing.

The CGI world of ReBoot was a wonderful allegory of an imagined computer system populated with sentient "sprites" and other constructs. Putting flesh and blood Hollywood "names" into blue stretchy suits and handing them laser guns or something would be the lamest thing I can imagine. ReBoot isn't some Marvel spandex-action hero story. It's just not an earthly world populated by flesh-and-blood.

I'd love to see the storyline continue again or the cliffhanger wrapped up in some kind of direct-to-video release like they do with the DC Animated Universe stories. The possibly ideal way might be something like the 1980s Transformers: The Movie with the familiar voice acting cast supplemented by big-name actors voicing some newer characters. Judd Nelson, Orson Welles, Leonard Nimoy, and others, if I recall, were in that voice cast. For the time, it was a very good movie. Leaps and bounds ahead of the Michael Bay travesty in live action we've seen later with heavy-handed CGI added on like silly string on a monster wedding cake.

No thanks.

Eeek!!! I'm getting dressed.
