New info on "ReBoot: the Guardian Code" (it doesn't sound good...)

TWC also has acquired rights to... a live-action/CG-animated series based on the original IP Reboot: The Guardian Code, a Power Rangers-esque show about a quartet of teens who enter cyberspace and become heroic figures who defend humanity from computer viruses, malware and other bad concoctions.

.....I normally hate people who go on message boards to complain.... but that sounds horrible..... Nothing like reboot at all....

I mean, I'll watch it but if it's THAT different, I'm not gonna consider it ReBoot.

Maybe the Power Ranger comparison was to one episode?



Yeah, I'm not a fan of the half-animation thing, nor the power-ranger comparison. They kind of already had something like that, and it was called VR Troopers and It sucked.

I think the original show took chances, and it took new chances every season while continually exploring the world and the characters that inhabit it. I'm going to have to wait and see what they do, and if they in fact take chances.

Casting call for a few characters. So there's The Skater, The Techno-Geek, The Social Media Maven (dear lord kill me now), The Jock, and... "Attractive"... Really? That's how you describe one of your female characters?

The descriptions of the characters read like some generic Disney channel crapfest. And teenagers, WHY TEENAGERS? Reboot fans have to be 30+ by now, we don't want to see that ****.

I'm sorry but I am hoping this will end up canned before it even airs.

That's what the creative forces over at Rainmaker believe will be a draw-in for their new (younger) audience.

I cannot stress enough that the original co-creators know this kind of mundane generic stuff isn't what we want, but unfortunately Rainmaker doesn't care to consult them on the matter.
