Megabyte and Bob vs Hexadecimal

It's a little strange that despite her constant presence in the first two seasons there were only two episodes where Hex was the big bad problem they had to deal with. And in both cases Megabyte was eliminated from the equation near the start.

Seeing as how Hexadecimal was an enemy of them both and that she and Megabyte were supposed to be constantly feuding, was anyone else a little disappointed that they never had an episode where Bob and Megabyte were forced to team up to stop her? I recall they were forced to team up against the User once, but Hex almost seems like she'd be a more likely opponent to force them together to put aside their differences.

I remember watching Painted Window and thinking it would be more interesting Megabyte got to contribute to defeating her for once.

Maybe on a long term basis Megabyte is the greater enemy, but on average Hex's plans always seemed to be portrayed as more cataclysmic than his. Between that and the fact that in every battle they had in Season 1 and 2, Hexadecimal would always always win (The first time Megabyte ever gained any advantage over her was in 3.01), I always got the sense that Hex was supposed to be seen as the graver danger. I figured that was why the Hex centric disasters were so few, to make sure they all had impact. Although to be fair I was never a 100% sure if the rivalry between Megabyte and Hex was also supposed to be seen as so one sided in universe.

I think there's a case to be made that Hexadecimal is also evil but even if she isn't, seeing as she's generally much more powerful than him and often a threat to everyone in Mainframe, I figured Megabyte and Bob being forced to work together against her would have made for a fun episode. Even if their common goal was simply survival.

I always saw Hexadecimal as being far greater the threat. While Megabyte merely wished to conquer Mainframe and eventually move onto other systems, Hex's levels of destruction could either effect just Mainframe or the entire Net.

If both viruses ever had two separate plots against the system going simultaneously, Bob would choose to stop Hex first every time. Megabyte may gain a bit more control, but Hex could potentially destroy everything if left unchecked. Th only reason Hex's plans weren't too frequent was because she didn't want her presence to become predictable. Her insanity made her a huge threat while it also saved Mainframe from being under constant onslaught of her transfinite power. It's why Gigabyte was so menacing. All of Hex's power with Megabytes's knowledge of how useful power could be in controlling others.

I would have LOVED an episode where Megabyte and the rest of Mainframe had to ban together to stop Hexadecimal. Perhaps something (a stray program, perhaps?) gives her a bit of clarity as to just how threatening she could be. She decides to put her love of unpredictability aside to enact frequent, almost scheduled bursts of chaos within Mainframe that begins to delete parts of the system. Bob, Megabyte and all their followers have to then find a way to quarantine Hex and also make her insane again.

If Hex wanted to she could have destroyed Mainframe any time she desired. She is power incarnate. She is so powerful that she even destroyed a super virus, which I suppose makes her a super virus as well. Her problem is she is totally crazy and mercurial. One second she would might want to blow everything up, but the very next minute she might forget about it and want a grilled cheese sandwich instead. Her rare lucid moments are when she strikes, and even then they are fleeting at best.

Daemon? Hex didn't destroy her. Daemon self destructed in the middle of their battle.
