Soundtrack

On the soundtrack Closer to Free doesn't quite sound the way it does on the opening credits... anyone know if there's an alternate version that was used or where to get the one that's on the opening credits?

Also, what is the song at the end of every episode in season one as the credits roll?

I don't believe The Bodeans ever released the note-for-note version that was heard on the television series? They released a promo with a printed sticker of PO5 on it and a live version and both were the band's original version, not the television version. I suppose there could be one out there somewhere, possibly a promo only item. They slightly tweaked the opening theme a couple of times in later seasons but it was still the Bodean's track each time.

There were a couple of variations on the ending theme. I'm not sure who created that, I bet Ashley may possibly know the answer to these.

Check your PM's.

Hey felbertmindfoto,

Thanks for the response, I really appreciate it. I was just taken aback because I was expecting the track on the soundtrack to sound a little more like the TV version - any idea of where I could find that promo? Also, are you a Bodeans fan? What other songs would you recommend?

Did you open the PM I sent to you with the television version of the song? Download it and save it to your hard drive.

I'm a huge fan of Party of Five, not a big fan of the BoDeans but they are part of the history of the series. They also sang the cover version of "I've Just Seen a Face" for the Party of Five spinoff, "Time of Your Life".

Here is what the promo looks like,

try EBAY or maybe even Amazon stores to find a copy. It's not real difficult to find and it should cost very little money, but keep in mind it's NOT the television version, just the band's original version. Download the one I sent you in the PM and at least you'll have the one heard on the series.

How do you mean? Like the music being different or lyrics? On tv shows they sometimes chop the song up in the opening credits. Charmed did the same thing with "How Soon is Now?" and Friends did it with their opening theme.

It just sounds to me like a different take or something. Like - not even chopped up. I found the soundtrack in Hastings for a dollar - brand new and I couldn't pass it up.

Thanks for your interest, and I had another question that I'm not sure if you can answer, but I'd appreciate your consideration:

"Season Three, Episode Nine (Gimme Shelter)
Around the 28 minute mark, Bailey and Sarah are having a conversation. Before and toward the end of the conversation songs are playing on the radio. Anyone know which songs they are?

Also, Bailey and Sarah are having another conversation around the 33 minute mark and yet another song is playing. Anyone know which song that is?

Thanks for any help."

reply

I can't confirm if the track was actually an alternate take, I doubt it. It's probably just a 30 second edit. Maybe Ashley can help you on the other song. Lots of the songs heard on the DVD's are not from the originally aired episodes.
