Stop waiting for a USA release.

You can get a $40 US DVD player ( Model #DVP3960) at Wal Mart that will play ALL DVD’s from all over the world.

Once you have the DVD player use this ‘hack’ to make it play all DVD’s.

region-free hack

I used the following and it worked fine for me on a recent purchase of a Philips DVP3960 *** also works with Philips DVP3560/F7

Power Up the unit with NO Disc in the tray.
Open the tray
Press the SETUP Button on the remote control
Navigate to the PREFERENCES page using the Right Arrow Key
Press the DOWN ARROW one time to select
Press the 1 button on your remote control
Press the 3 button on your remote control
Press the 8 button on your remote control
Press the 9 button on your remote control
Press the 3 button on your remote control
Press the 1 button on your remote control
The current Region Code Setting will display
Use the UP/DOWN Arrow Keys to select the region required or '0' for All Regions
Press the PLAY Button on the remote control

that looks like its just for HD tvs :(

To try and answer your concerns.
It will hook up to a regular TV (the same as your DVD player your using now does) or for better picture you can use an HDMI Cable (not included in box) to hook it up to your HDTV. Player will NOT play HD or Blu-ray DVD’s. Just regular DVD’s or CD’s that have been around for years.

Cool302,

I am holding in my hand the 2 Disc Set of Ocean Girl first season. On the back cover it says it’s Region ALL.

But it is in Disc format PAL.

When buying a DVD Player make sure it will play both PAL and NTSC format. Sometimes it will plainly say so on the outside box. Other times it will state it on the specifications page on the owners manual.

Will look something like this: “Playback Multistandard PAL/NTSC or Media Format: NTSC, PAL”.

You best bet is to go to the manufactures web site and look it up that way.

Do not rely on the sales person to get this information. They will not know what your talking about and will say what ever to make the sale.

Wal-Mart sell several DVD Players that play both PAL and NTSC format.

Philips DVP3960/37, DVP1120/37 and Cody DVD-536 all under $40 US.
