An Analysis Of Why These Characters Were Missing From Later Series...

Mr. and Mrs. Tubby Bear: None of the other characters have parents, even the child-like ones such as Tessie Bear and especially Noddy. Perhaps the makers felt that it would feel out-of-place for Master Tubby Bear to have them. Also, a large part of their roles in "Noddy's Toyland Adventures" was discipling Master Tubby. Since (for the most part) he is well-behaved in this series, they were deemed unnecessary. Finally, often in the original, they would help Noddy or guide him. In "Make Way for Noddy" this role seems to have been given to characters such as Big-Ears and Dinah Doll.

Sammy Sailor: He was presumably cut because of his accent, which could be seen as being offensive by some. Also, he was extremely unlikeable in the original series at times ("Noddy Sets a Trap") to the point where he almost became a villain, and while yes, characters such as Sly and Gobbo are also, presumably the writers felt that the series shouldn't have too many antagonists.

Bert Monkey: Bert was probably removed due to being too similar to Martha Monkey.

Mr. Milko: I think that he was cut because milkmen are now very old-fashioned and many of today's children and children from other countries (bearing in mind this series was designed to be very sellable worldwide) are unfamiliar with them. Another reason could have been that he is very unhappy most of the time in the original series. Maybe he was cut because the writers didn't want that kind of gloomy tone in this series, which is very upbeat a lot of the time.

Mr. and Mrs. Straw: Not too sure with these. Their farm still appears in several episodes and Mr. Straw is even mentioned in "Noddy and the New Taxi."

"You're always thinking about sustenance!"

"I'm not! I'm always thinking about food!"
