He's trying to bring it back as a movie. He has more than a few tweets discussing this. He recently had a meeting about it, but he didn't get into much detail. I'd love to have the show back, but something tells me that wouldn't work out. Though I'd still tune in if it ever came to fruition. But absolutely, they better have the old cast in the movie. I'm 100% behind whatever way they want to bring this show back (movie or series) because it really didn't end well at all.

I understand what you mean. I would prefer a (TV) movie primarily because a new series MAY destroy the original. If it was five years later or even ten years, then I would root for a series. But lets face it, Malik and Lauren are pushing 50, Michael is in his 50's, and Patti is in her 60's. They're still a talented bunch, but it won't quite be the same as it was twenty years ago.
shareMalik isn't quite pushing 50...he's 45. I know that because I am 45 and he's 13 days older than I am. My birthday is at the end of September.

I was a young kid when this show came out but remember it because my parents watched it. I like Malik Yoba on Alphas so I'd give NYU a try.

shareI think that the show should be revived with Yoba back as Williams, now in a sargent or captain type role. I wish someone would tweet or contact Dick Wolf to lay out a premise for NYU revival. He's creating all these L&O knockoff's on NBC, why not revamp one of its more popular associated shows?
shareDick should revamp this show I'm still amazed at how many people remember this show. Good one on Williams playing a captain or lieutenant. I'm sure Lisa Velez will be willing to come back to the show.
shareI personally think it would be hard to bring it back with half the duo dead. NYU was J.C. Williams and Eddie Torres. They killed Eddie off. Unless they found a way to resurrect Eddie, I wouldn't be interested in a reboot. Now, I wouldn't mind seeing Williams as a cop on another show where he joins the cast or something...I guess a bit of a crossover, but I am not interested in a NYU reboot without Eddie Torres.
