Mission to find a show as wonderful and realistic as this

So far Degrassi Junior High/High. I love the whole realistic/talky vibe in both of these shows. I've been searching so much for wonderfully written teen shows such as these that capture the mundanity and also beauty of real life. It seems impossible! I've tried Felicity; it's alright but can anybody recommend me other shows in this league?

FREAKS&GEEKS. Now. Go watch.
Seriously, it's one of, if not the, best show about high school. IMO, it's just as great (maybe greater) than this show.

Yeah, Freaks and Geeks was just pure awesome.

I recommend looking into other shows made by some of the same people. Relativity was a very good one. I didn't get to see much of it (like MSCL, it was gone in an eyeblink), but what I saw was damned good. And Devon Gummersall (Brian Krakow) is in it!

I'll bet you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

Once & Again is one which is awesome. It's by the same people who were involved on MSCL.

Also Degrassi The Next Generation's first 4 seasons have a similar feel to MSCL. Each episode tackles a new issue but in a realistic way.

Freaks & Geeks is an AMAZING show as well. It's SO relatable and has a lot of heart.

Something else I enjoy is Dawson's Creek, which focusses on middle-class best friends growing up in a small town. It is a bit more dramatic, but I just love the dialogue on this show. It's so intellegent and witty.

If you thought Felicity was alright I really think Dawson's Creek is better but in a similar vein.

Also the more recent show Life Unexpected, which is close to anything The WB ever did.

And Everwood. That show is breathtaking to watch - the scenery is beautuful.

Good choices.

My Mad Fat Diary available on Hulu is the closest thing to this series. Takes place in 1996 -1998.

Movie wise Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)

Felicity? Um, no, that is NOT a realistic show. lol

Freaks and Geeks. Honestly I firmly believe that F&G failed because it was TOO realistic--much like MS-cL. I think F&G was a tad bit on the lighter side at times, and others not light at ALL but either way seriously it is AWESOME and I think almost anyone can relate to it wholeheartedly. :)

"Felicity? Um, no, that is NOT a realistic show."

Although the typical adult female wouldn't follow her crush to college, I do feel the stories of the initial season of Felicity were relatable and realistic.

Season 4 went a bit crazy with the time travel stuff (JJ Abrams is to blame lol)

Dawsons Creek was really good. The first series especially. Very intelligent and realistic, but funny too.

Yeah I've already seen Freaks and Geeks, good show. I agree, first season of Dawson's Creek wasn't bad.

Try Joan of Arcadia. I know it may look like an odd suggestion given the supernatural element of the show, but it reminds me of MSCL in so many ways.

Picket Fences.

Amazingly awesome show.

I know it's animated, but Daria is pretty freaking awesome. There ARE differences e.g. Daria is more emotionally balanced than Angela in MSCL- but it's still a great depiction of the 90s and high school.

Life As We Know It (from 2004/05) was another short-lived TV show that could have been a classic if it had been allowed to play out further. It was basically the male's answer to the female perspective of My So-Called Life, in my humble opinion. ; )

Oh, and one more thing...you just read my signature.
