As much as Bock is warming our families heart there is always the dweeb like qualities of Stocki that is just lovely.
I don't think you can peg the two together...
Stocki just was lovely... Bock well I just see him as Alex's shadow.
Ernst Stockinger is my favorite character. What a pity: he is only in the first series.
I like this series less since he isn't here anymore...
Actually, he's in the first two series. The last episode of season two ist called "Stockingers letzter Fall" = Stockinger's last case.

As a relative newie with Rex [can't get enuf!], only familiar with Alex, Bock and Hollerer. Why did Hollerer leave? Star of the show naturally is the super brilliant canine, Rexy!
I prefer Bock, but I'm really tired of how, in every episode, Rex ends up with Bock's ham roll.
Hollerer left because he inherited his father's pub. (If you meant the guy who PLAYED him, sorry, I haven't a clue.)

I think they're two very different characters, and each has their own little "quirks" - but personally, it's Stocki for me! He was a really great character, and I'd just love to see that TV series he made after leaving "Inspector Rex"!
shareStocki amused me more and it was interesting to see how he stopped fearing Rex so much. The relationship between Bock and Rex didn't have that sort of progression. However, Bock is a little easier on the eyes... ;)

Having a passion for ford escorts and Inspector Rex, I too enjoyed Bock's introduction. But I miss STOCKINGER! I love it during the debut episode when Stocki attempts to give Moser an office chair to take home, as Moser's wife has taken all of their furniture... Moser and Stocki had a great relationship...Has anyone compared Stocki to the skinny one(excuse my ignorance) of Laurel and Hardy?

Neither I liked the fact that they where both totally different and had their little quirks that made them so endearing.
