I think I missed something regarding Kurt

I've been watching the episodes of season 5. In one episode, Kurt tells Nikki that his dad is gone to Brisbane for 2 days for a job so they'll have the house to themselves (although she's busy with Luda the recording artist), and then in the next episode, he's helping Draz set up a fishtank in the warehouse and then Draz makes a comment that Kurt has moved in.

Did I miss something...? Was it ever mentioned that his dad moved away permanently, or...? Is it supposed to be assumed that his dad moved to Brisbane and sold the house?

Thanks!

You'll find that Heartbreak High is FULL of ridiculous and annoying plotholes like that. To the extent that I was actually put off watching it.

Others include:

Why do Sarah and Ryan have to make it so hard for themselves by trying to lose their virginity at Lee's place when they could have just gone to Ryan's place? His mum was away, no?

Or better yet, why the hell does Sarah even live with Lee when she could be living with her boyfriend??

So many things are introduced and then just completely dumped by the wayside too. Like when Nikki goes completley batshi*t, is in and out of an insane asylum... All within about 2 episodes. WTF?

Oh, no kidding! I've been trying to watch the episodes (so far up to the point where Kurt meets the illiterate tennis player). I thought the same thing -- why can't Sarah and Ryan just use his place?? As if Anita wouldn't understand???

And yes, Nikki's severe mental collapse seems to have remedied itself rather quickly.

Additionally, Kurt is already living with Drazic when he teaches Anita and Sarah to drive. When Anita damages the car, Kurt makes a comment that his dad is going to be very mad. So... I thought his dad moved away? And he left the car behind for Kurt? Interesting that it's the only episode where Kurt is seen using the car.

So, is it pretty typical for high schoolers in Australia to be on their own their final year of high school? In the States, that's not very common at all (it would be considered neglect). Unless it's an absolute horrific home life, teenagers live with their parents until they graduate from high school (even if those students are 18 or 19). Earning enough money to pay rent somewhere, plus utilities, food, clothes, etc., would be next to impossible while going to high school. It's more likely they would end up in foster homes.

Yet Drazic and Kurt seem to do just fine, along with Sarah for a while (before living with Lee).

Is this normal in Australia?

As much as i love this show, there are a lot of "plotholes" or should i say "let's make this storyline convenient by making up stuff even if that messes up with the story we've told before".

Just like Drazic's mom, he jokes in an early episode about his mother and then near the end he's all upset because of what his dad used to do to his mom when he was younger.

One that's even better than Nikki's situation was when Anita developed, was caught and was cured of bulimia all in the space of one episode...

Regarding sarah staying with lee instead of ryan i just watched the episode today.ryan offered for sarah to live with them but she said since they are close with sarah mum her mum would always be checking up on her and she wanted to be independent.so she stay in that place with that abusive dude until he kicked her out when they told Nat about it he let her stay with them.it was probaly a reason to make it interesting to like when sarah breAks the frame and when sarah talks to ryan about never having a proper family well she end up with one mum dad even brother and she fills the void of the lost son simon and the daughter they never had.makes sense to me.no real plothole there.the rest yes though.
